O-Neg Blood Drive Needs Donors in Lethbridge

Every time you donate blood, you save three lives, and it only takes an hour. Donating blood is an altruistic act for millions of Canadian, but more donors are always needed. Canadian Blood Services is organizing its second O-Negative type blood drive in Lethbridge next week. Shamus Neeson, Community Development Manager for the Canadian Blood Services, says 100 donors are needed.

Only seven percent of Canadians have O-negative blood. It’s the “universal” donor and can be used in emergency situations where there’s no time to determine the recipient’s blood type. The blood drive will be held on Wednesday, August 13, from noon to 4 pm at the Exhibition & Trade Centre.
