There was quite a bit of debate in the House of Commons on Monday night as MPs talked about the NDP’s motion to officially recognize Palestine as a state. In the end that request was withdrawn as there were 14 amendments to the original motion. Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly says it was important for all parties to work together on this very sensitive issue. Political reporter and Sun columnist Brian Lilley said there were a number of people who took serious issue with the NDP’s original motion. He explains in this interview with BCN’s Hal Roberts.
