Navaratri celebrations to kick off in Lethbridge this weekend

A family-friendly, non-alcoholic event is taking place for those that want to  learn more about and experience Indian culture.  Around 400 people are expected to pack into the South Pavillion at Exhibition Park this weekend to celebrate the festival of Navaratri. It is a Hindu festival that celebrates the triumph of good over evil. It is marked with cultural costumes, music, dancing and food.  In India, the festival spans nine nights and 10 days.  Vice President of the Gujarati Society of Lethbridge, Suketu Shah explains what guests will experience. 

The event runs Friday until Sunday.
