LPS charge 41-year-old male with sexual assault; other charges
Lethbridge Police have charged a 41-year-old Justin Chad Leavitt with multiple charges, including sexual assault and uttering threats among others.
Police responded to nine calls and complaints from a home on McGill Boulevard between August 6th to September 22nd, ranging from noisy and large parties to fireworks being set off. On September 22, police received information that a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by an adult male during one of these parties inside the home. In another incident, a neighbor was threated by the same man after attempting to discuss the ongoing disturbances.
In total, Leavitt is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, causing a disturbance and 11 counts of mischief – obstruct lawful use of property.
He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on October 10.
