#LoveFromTheWest social media contest started by TELUS

Lethbridge and the greater Alberta area is home to some of the most picture perfect landscapes in Canada and it’s about to be shown off in a big way. TELUS is launching a new program called #LoveFromTheWest which will take place from April 11 to May 12. It is asking Albertans to showcase scenic areas they call home for a chance at winning cash prizes. Video Journalist Micah Quinn talked with TELUS representatives about this fun new initiative.

Outdoor lovers in Western Canada are being encouraged to share a photo, video or written note of their favorite scenic spot on their Facebook or Instagram profile and hashtag #LoveFromTheWest and use the @telus tag.

Once the contest wraps up, two winners, one from B.C. and one from Alberta, will win $2,500 to give to a local charity of their choice, along with an additional $2,500 to put toward a trip to explore any of the beautiful scenery within the two provinces. Winners will also get a new Samsung smart TV.

According to staff from TELUS, since 2000, the company, along with its team members and retirees have generated more than $1.27 million in cash contributions and volunteered more than 75,000 hours in support of charities and community organizations in Lethbridge.
