Local Taekwondo athlete wins gold at international tournament

An 18-year-old woman from Lethbridge was able to capture gold at a prestigious Tae Kwon-Do tournament held here in Lethbridge earlier this month.

Paige Hueppelsheuser who trains with Champion Tae Kwon-Do took gold in Continuous Sparring in her group of women aged 18-39. Competing alongside 15 other members with Champion, Hueppelsheuser says her instructors have been very supportive leading up to the tournament.

In total according to Champion instructor Steven Brown, six from the Champion Tae Kwon-Do took home medals, including two other gold medalists who will be competing in Spain later this year at another Tae Kwon-Do World Cup.
