LFES attends fire at Tollestrup worksite, workers evacuated
UPDATED SINCE AIRTIME: On Monday afternoon, fire crews attended an commercial structure fire at a gravel and asphalt plant in the Oldman river valley, near Highway 3
Workers with Tollestrup Construction say they evacuated the worksite just after 11 a.m. with all workers safe and accounted for. when Lethbridge Fire and Emergency crews arrived at the site, they they found the building fully engulfed in flames and began a defensive fire attack to protect nearby structures and property.
The building where the fire originated was destroyed. Twenty-four firefighters from four stations successfully prevented the fire from spreading.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
