Lethbridge Soup Kitchen to serve large Thanksgiving meals to city’s homeless

As many of us are getting ready to stuff some turkeys over the weekend for Thanksgiving, The Lethbridge Soup Kitchen is doing the same. The non-for-profit is preparing many meals that are expected to feed hundreds. Bill Ginther, the Executive Director of the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen says they have a few big meals planned for this weekend.

“We’re doing a major, major large ham dinner on Sunday night, and we expect to see probably between 125 and 150 people for that. And then Monday night, we’re doing a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings. And so it’s anticipated by people. We are very fortunate that we get volunteers that step up, if not during the year. During special times, we often get calls, especially for Christmas in late October. And of course, we’re already booked solid with people, but it’s nice that people step up.”

Ginther says they are still in need of volunteers. If you have some time you can donate you are asked to contact the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen.
