Lethbridge Polytechnic President calls 2025 a “transitional” year

As classes at post-secondary institutions wrap up for the term and for holiday break, the president of Lethbridge Polytechnic is reflecting on the last year and how the institution is holding up.

Doctor Brad Donaldson says this was a “transitional year” after the rebrand from college to polytechnic and taking 9th place on a ranking of best research colleges in the nation. It was not without its challenges either, Donaldson says, with the mass reduction of international students resulting in program shuffling.

Looking towards the long-term future, Donaldson says work is ongoing for partnerships with the University of Lethbridge, Red Crow Community College and Medicine Hat College. Plus planning is underway for a new Centre Core to house student services and bring in a modern fresh look.
