Lethbridge opens Re-Imagine Downtown applications for event organizers

The City of Lethbridge has opened applications for grant funding to boost vibrancy and business in the downtown area. The Re-imagine Downtown Activation Grant program will give a total of $120,000 in funding to successful applicants who implement initiatives, events, or programs that activate the Downtown district.

There is an emphasis this year to focus on events held at Galt Gardens. Successful applicants will be eligible for up to $15,000 per initiative for a focus on Galt Gardens, and $10,000 outside of the gardens.

The City’s Urban Revitalization Manager says events like Latin Fest, Lethbridge Electronic Music Festival and Foodie Fest have helped contribute to attracting consumers to downtown businesses.

Applications for the grant are available on the City’s website and are open until December 31. Events will be awarded in January.
