The City of Lethbridge has marked the start of Reconciliation Week on Monday and will host events that celebrate Indigenous culture and reflect as a community.
The City’s Indigenous Relations Specialist says since Lethbridge has taken initiative to bring in a call to action in recognizing reconciliation, they have served as an example for other municipalities.
This year, the city will introduce a new Indigenous Music Festival this coming weekend ahead of National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. The City is also putting together an Indigenous Colouring and Activity Book where selected submissions will receive a 100-dollar honorarium.
Other organizations including the Lethbridge Public Library and Galt Museum will host their own events which can be found online.
