Lethbridge competition set to bring awareness to agriculture in southern Alberta

How would you like to spend the weekend traveling around southern Alberta completing different agricultural activities and taking selfies for the chance to win $5000? Well, now is your chance, grab a partner and embark on Visit Lethbridge’s Odyssey 2021 event.

A maximum of 110 teams will compete on August 13. Shilpa Stocker, Project Manager with the Lethbridge Lodging Association, says the event will have teams competing in different activities to gain points, while learning new skills in the agricultural industry.

Teams will start in Lethbridge and follow directions and clues that will take them throughout the region. Along the way, teams can gather extra points by taking selfies at one spot, collecting a designated item at another, and more.

Saturday, Aug. 14 will be full of activities, and on Sunday their knowledge will be tested.

Mike Warkentin, CEO of Lethbridge and District Exhibition, says all these activities will fit into the agricultural sector.

Warkentin adds the partnership between the Exhibition and Lodging Association was to help both industries that were struggling by increasing the number of tourists visiting southern Alberta.

The cost to enter is $500 and includes a one night stay at a hotel, two meals, a t-shirt and the chance to win $5000. More details can be found at VisitLethbridge.ca
