Arts in the Parks to showcase local artists

Entertainment lovers will be heading back to enjoy live performances this summer in Alberta. New West Theatre is hosting a number of music, dance, and comedy acts. Arts in the Parks will feature performances throughout parks in our city. There will be one event each weekend with a multitude of local artists performing. The Artistic Director for New West Theatre, Kelly Reay, says this is a great opportunity for the community to get out and have fun.

This is the first year that the Arts in the Parks events will take place says Reay, “It was kind of an opportunity that was born out of necessity. Having this pandemic hang over our heads and not know what the future would be. There was an opportunity through the City of Lethbridge, and it just started as an idea that formed into a big summer festival.”

Nicholas Sheran Park, Legacy Park, Civic Centre Park, and Henderson Lake Park will play host to the festivities.

All events are free to attend for Lethbridge residents.

The events will take place from July 10 to September 11, and the full performance lineup will be announced on June 23.
