Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce react to final election results

Officials with the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce are reacting to the final result of Monday’s Election. Cyndi Bester, CEO of the Chamber says from a business stand point, there has been a lot of positive movement and change over the past four years with the UCP government. Bester says affordability is one of the biggest issues they are hearing which they would like to see be addressed by the province.

“You know, utility costs, you know, there’s concerns about repayment of CEBA loans and things like that. So, again, a lot of that is educating and working with municipal, provincial, and federal government. And now that we’ve had, you know, we’ve had our city council in for over a year and a half, this new provincial government will be up and running shortly. So we’ll have some consistency. That’s the other thing that our citizens haven’t had. We have been election, election, election, election over the last four years.”

The UCP won a slim majority securing 49 seats compared to the NDP’s 38.
