Lethbridge census numbers show growth to 106,550 people

The final numbers have been tallied for the 2023 Lethbridge Municipal Census.

New figures show that our city has grown to 106,550 people.

This marks a rise of 5,068 people, which is an almost five per cent increase from 2019.

The largest area of Lethbridge was the Westside with 43,793 people.

The Northside has 29,448 and the Southside of the city 33,309 people.

Lethbridge Councillor Belinda Crowson said it’s great news to be able to increase our population in Lethbridge.

“As was mentioned thank you to the residents who took the time to make sure that every single person was counted. This continues to show the growth of Lethbridge. And it’s always nice to be ahead of Red Deer.”

The census collection period was from April 1-23.

The data collected helped to determine the number of people living in each household as well as their age and sex.
