Justice Minister, Kaycee Madu, has written to the federal government saying that he would like to see Albertans being allowed to carry pepper spray as a legal way of protecting themselves. Currently, pepper spray is a prohibited weapon in Canada unless you are a police officer. Our legislative reporter and the Alberta Correspondent with the National Post, Tyler Dawson, says Madu feels pepper spray would help protect many who are most vulnerable in our larger centres.
