Impaired drivers continue causing fatal accidents in Canada

Sadly, fatal accidents caused by drunk drivers do occur, including the tragedy involving hockey star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew. Although the situation occurred in New Jersey, here in Canada Corporal Troy Savinkoff, Public Information Officer with Alberta RCMP, says last year they investigated collisions resulting in the deaths of 244 people. He also says of those, alcohol is suspected to be a factor in 24 per cent of the cases. He says drinking and driving is still an issue. Ahead of the Labor Day long weekend, the RCMP is asking drivers to keep safety in mind which includes not to drive impaired, follow the speed limits and to not to drive tired.
