Impact of Oct.7 Hamas attacks felt in Israel-and-worldwide
This Tuesday, October 7, marks two years since the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, in which 1,200 people were killed, and around 250 others were kidnapped. Since then, Israelis, Jews, and others with spiritual or political ties to Israel continue to feel the pain—especially those still waiting for the return of loved ones kidnapped by Hamas during the attack.
The impact is still deeply felt in Israel, among Jewish communities, and around the world. Here in Lethbridge, Garry Kohn, President of the Hebrew Congregation shares his reflections—reminding us that the pain of October 7, 2023, still echoes far beyond Israel’s borders.
In a statement today, Prime Minister Mark Carney condemned Hamas and antisemitism saying Jewish people everywhere continue to live with a profound sense of grief and anxiety, Carney added that on this day and every day, we stand with the victims, their families, and their communities, who continue to carry unimaginable grief.
