Two of the four men charged in connection with the Coutts border protest were being released from custody today. Chris Lysak pleaded guilty to a restricted weapons charge and Jerry Morin pleaded guilty to conspiracy to traffic a firearm. But with time already served they are both being released. The charges of conspiring to commit murder against RCMP officers have been stayed. Chris Carbert and Anthony Olienick meanwhile remain behind bars. Fort Macleod councillor, Marco Van Huigenbos who himself faces charges of mischief in connection with the Coutts border blockade, says it was a real relief for two of the four finally being released. Huigenbos says this is really a travesty of justice what is taking place.
