Funding needed for medical centre in Ethiopia

The nonprofit organization called Blessing the Children Canada will be hosting a benefit concert here in our city. The theme will be classical voice music, opera and musical theatre. Organizer Spencer VanDellen say the funds for the concert will go to a good cause to help out people in Ethiopia.

“Our goal this summer is to raise money for a medical centre that is currently under construction in Bishoftu, Ethiopia. It is in the construction phase right now. They have the framing done and they are working on the roof right now. It costs about $12 million Birr to build that facility, which is about $300,000. So, we’re just working towards that. That is our major project at the moment in Ethiopia.”

Admission is by donation and the concert will take place on August 5th at 7pm at Southminster United Church in Lethbridge.
