Four prizes for Honkers at Best Bar None awards

A local pub has received top honours in our city. Honkers Pub and Eatery won four awards at the Best Bar None awards on Wednesday evening for best business, best staff, best food and best community involvement. The owner of Honkers, Vicky Vanden Hoek says it was amazing to receive the awards.

“I mean, the more you can be recognized for things that you’re working hard at is just fabulous. We will have the sticker which will say, Best Bar None. We want people to ask us what that is. We’ll have it on our website and information. It’s not just having an award because you’ve been around for 25 years. It’s something about you’re doing your job and trying to make sure everything is safe for staff and customers. Having that on your door or a sign is kind of great, people can ask you’re new to town. I feel like I could come here on my own and it would be a great place to go.”

Pops Taphouse took home the best pub award and the Water Tower Grill received the best restaurant and bar award.
