Danielle Smith receives endorsement from Nathan Neudorf
UCP leadership candidate Danielle Smith has a few new shining endorsements from Alberta MLAs. Lethbridge-East MLA Nathan Neudorf has thrown his support behind Smith to replace Jason Kenney as premier and leader of the party. Smith said at the first UCP leadership debate on Wednesday in Medicine Hat that she has also received support from Pat Rehn, the MLA for Lesser Slave Lake, Alberta.
“I must say what I appreciated most Pat Rehn and Nathan Neudorf is Pat said, I like Travis, and Nathan Neudorf said I like Travis and I like Rebecca. What I’m hearing from caucus is that they’re prepared to endorse more than one leader. I think that goes to the unity of our caucus. I don’t want there to be this impression that if any one of us wins, that’s going to alienate the others. I’ve got really good relationships with about 40 caucus members. I’ve reached out to almost everyone. I’m still working my way through everybody else who has been together for the last three years. They have those pre-established relationships.”
Bridge City News reached out to the office of Nathan Neudorf for an interview but we did not hear back before the time of this broadcast. The election results will be announced on October 6th.
