Five charged with first-degree murder in targeted attack
Lethbridge Police have provided a detailed update on a murder that occurred at a south Lethbridge apartment on March 27th. It has ultimately led to LPS issuing first-degree murder charges to five suspects.
It was early in the morning on March 27th, when police got the call of an assault taking place at a unit at this apartment complex at the 200 block of 7 a avenue south. The victim, a 27 year old man was found unresponsive, and he eventually died of his injuries. Now police have revealed that five suspects were direct participants in what is dubbed as a targeted attack.
Police have revealed two new suspects since the last update, which includes a 40 year old man who was arrested on April 2nd, as well as a 22 year old woman who turned herself in to police on Wednesday. Initially, two men were arrested without incident back on March 28th, and another arrest was made on March 30th after the critical incident team executed two search warrants at Mt Crandall Crescent.
Darcy Andrew Medicine Crane, 43; Jordan Frank North Peigan, 27; Nicholas Rodney Scout, 42; Bradley Stephen Paskiuski, 40; and Emma Ryann Scott, 22, all of Lethbridge, are each charged with one count of first-degree murder. All have been remanded in custody.
Medicine Crane and Scout are scheduled to appear in court on April 30 and North Peigan on May 1. Paskiuski has reportedly appeared in court on Thursday, and Scott will appear on Friday.
Staff Sergeant Ashlyn Snowden is reassuring residents the city remains very safe and incidents like these are rare, but also not to hesitate to call 911 if they feel that someone might be in danger.
The investigation continues, but LPS says they are not pursuing any other subjects at this time.
