‘Financial rebates won’t help Canadians’: Canadian Taxpayers Federation
The Federal Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, Franco Terrazzano, says the announcement from Ottawa about new financial help shows that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is not serious about making life more affordable. Terrazzano says the rebate will not help. Instead, he says, the Trudeau Liberals should just cut taxes all together.
“He announced the GST rebate for some Canadians. That is good news for some Canadians who are going to get some of their money back but more than two thirds of Canadians won’t feel relief from this. If the government really wants to make life more affordable for Canadians, than it should just cut out the middle man and instead of rebates, it should just cut taxes all together,” said Franco Terrazzano, Federal Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
Terrazzano says the reason why Canadians are paying so much in taxes is that the federal government has a spending problem.
