Feds raising carbon tax April 1

 

With the calendar switching to April, the federal government will be increasing the carbon tax. With fuel prices rising due to factors like the war in Ukraine and high oil prices, many Southern Albertans are feeling sticker shock at the pump. Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced he would be removing thirteen cents per liter in provincial fuel taxes but according to Dan McTeague, the president of Canadians For Affordable Energy, gas prices may not drop that amount.
