Family of COVID-19 deceased man raising funds to bring body home to southern Alberta

Waylon Blood grew up in Southern Alberta, and tragically passed away from COVID-19 while working in Tucson, Arizona. The cost to transport his body back to southern Alberta so he can be laid to rest here is about $7,000 USD.
His family has organized a 50/50 draw and raffle in order to help cover the costs. His brother Kyle Blood, says the family is extremely grateful for the community’s support, and spoke about the legacy his brother left behind.
“He was a really awesome guy. He was a devout Christian and he was always willing to help people out. My brother touched a lot of hearts,” he continued “he used to work with the Blood Tribe Police Service as a constable, and after that he served as a dispatcher…he actually won a governor generals award for saving a life over the phone. (Our) family was very grateful for that”.
