Entrepreneur gets business tips from students thanks to Tecconnect Challenge
Thanks to the help of some Lethbridge College students through this year’s Tecconnect Challenge, a local mustard producer now has some tips to help grow his business. Six teams of students in the Multimedia Production and Digital Communications Media programs were asked to create new solutions to help an entrepreneur grow their business. Tanya Weder with the College talks about this year’s entrepreneur and some of the challenges the business faced.
“Robert Luco and Luco Farms was their entrepreneur this year. Their biggest challenge right now was they wanted to grow their business kind of beyond where it is now and target some specific areas that they haven’t targeted before. The folks from Luco Farms were really excited by the pitches from the students, it was very much a fresh perspective, they are a legacy brand so they have been in Southern Alberta for a long time. The students really brought them a variety of different ways to engage with their customers,” Tanya Weder, Instructor for the Multimedia Production program at Lethbridge College.
Weder says the Tecconnect Challenge is now in its seventh year.
