Christmas cruise and Toy-Run for Angel Tree campaign

If you like Christmas lights, make sure you head out to Mayor Magrath Drive South on Friday night. It will be lit up beautifully but not by Christmas Trees.

At least 30 decorated semi-trucks from across the province will be there for a Christmas Cruise. The big rigs will be adorned with festive lights, toys and decorations for the 3rd annual Alberta Large Cars Christmas Cruise and Toy Run to raise awareness and donations for Angel Tree.

Organizer Jackie Koch says last year the event helped bring in about 300 toys for Lethbridge Family Service’s Angel Tree campaign and this year they’re hoping for even more.

The convoy will leave Kirk’s Tire at 5:30 pm. on Friday, December 15, then head south on Mayor Magrath Drive to the Enmax Centre. They will remain staged there with their toy trailer until after 7 p.m. when the puck drops at the Lethbridge Hurricane’s game.
