Carney’s bail announcement draws reaction from criminal defence lawyer, LPS

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Thursday over tougher bail rules, a local criminal defence lawyer is calling this new measure “problematic” as it pertains to the rights of her clients.

The Deputy Chief for Lethbridge Police Service also weighed in on today’s announcement. Gerald Grobmeier says they’re watching developments relating to bail, as it may determine whether or not they bump into the same offenders, time and time again.

Landon is a recent graduate of the Radio and Television program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in Edmonton. He previously obtained a diploma for Christian Ministries at Home Church Bible College in Red Deer, Alberta.
