Canadian Taxpayers Federation releases its 2025 Naughty-&-Nice list

This is the time of year when people start preparing their Christmas wish lists for Santa and reflecting on how good—or not—they’ve been. In this spirit, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation has released its 2025 Naughty & Nice List.

CTF Federal Director Franco Terrazzano says politicians and bureaucrats make the naughty list when they raise taxes, waste money, or try to avoid accountability. But they make the nice list when they cut spending, reduce taxes, and improve transparency for taxpayers. Terrazzano says Ontario Premier Doug Ford tops the “Naughty” list.

Topping the taxpayer’s nice list is Parliamentary Budget Officer Jason Jakes for sounding the alarm over the government’s growing debt.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe also is the nice list because he made Saskatchewan the first carbon tax free province in Canada.

He also included Alberta Premier Danielle Smith on that list for refusing to spend $2 billion more to satisfy the Alberta Teachers Association
