Canadian Blood Services introduces new bursary program for post-secondary students

There is a need for plasma donations and a program for post-secondary students through the Canadian Blood Services hopes to be able to just do that. The first-ever plasma bursary program offers students a chance to win up to $3000 for their education if they can bring in donations while also raising awareness. Brenna Scott with the Canadian Blood Services says they hope this will bring out lots of students as many are already donors themselves.

“I can say that we have such a great post-secondary population here in Lethbridge between the university and the college. We have seen a lot of post-secondary students as donors themselves so we are hoping that we have really strong involvement from these students. We have so many students who are volunteers as well, they are such passionate promoters of the centre, so we are hoping they will be successful as much as we do. We are really hoping this will bring in a lot of plasma donors.”

Students have up until July 15 to register for the program. More information can be found here.
