Calgary dental clinic offers free services

Hours before they opened on Saturday June 15, the staff at Le Family Dental in Calgary arrived at their clinic and saw over 100 people lined up for complimentary dentistry services for the clinic’s inaugural Free Dental Day. It was held in observance of Neighbour Day, a yearly event that has taken place in the Stampede City since 2013.

Dr. Linh Le says her family owned and operated practice wanted to give back to the community…something that her father instilled in her, and her siblings.

The event, which included live entertainment drew crowds of people, many who were given a number and asked to return later. The attendees ranged from university students to families and individuals who simply cannot afford to pay out of pocket during these difficult financial times.

One of Le’s hopes in this initiative was to cause a chain reaction of generosity and selflessness.

More than 20 volunteers, including dentists, hygienists, EMS workers, and nurses helped run the event.  And many supplies used in the dental work was donated from the clinic’s vendors
