Byelection called, where Poilievre seeks return to Parliament

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre now has a clearer path back to Parliament.

Prime Minister Mark Carney has called for a by-election in the federal riding of Battle River-Crowfoot for August 18th. Residents in rural Alberta have been talking about separating from Canada and some political analysts say that’ll be tricky for Poilievre to navigate.

Poilievre lost his seat in the April election and is hoping to be back in the House of Commons for the fall sitting in September after former Conservative MP of Battle River-Crowfoot, Damien Kurek, officially resigned his seat.
