Bridget Mearns overwhelmed by support from volunteers, community members
Bridget Mearns finished a very close second in the race to become the mayor of Lethbridge, losing by just 508 votes. This is the second time Mearns has been the runner up, losing to Mayor Chris Spearman in 2013 before winning a spot back on council in a 2014 by-election. She stepped away from politics when her term ended in 2017.
Mearns told Bridge City News that she is thankful for the support of her campaign team and she is still dedicated to serving our community.
The new mayor and council will be sworn in on Monday October, 25th.
