AUPE workers rally at St Therese Villa

A rally was held by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees based at Covenant Health’s St Therese Villa here in Lethbridge earlier today. The union and the workers at St Therese have been bargaining with Covenant Health for over a year for better wages and working conditions.
The vice president for AUPE says the offer from the employer for a 7.5% wage increase over four years is “woefully behind every other offer” that they’ve seen.
AUPE represents some 82,000 public sector workers who have been trying to negotiate new deals with the government this past year.
