Alberta Federation of Agriculture looking forward to Chinese trade talks

Prime Minister Mark Carney met face to face with Chinese President Xi Jinping Friday, on the sidelines of the APEC summit in South Korea. Carney called the meeting a “turning point” for the two nations.

The Alberta Federation of Agriculture says they are following the talks “with great interest.” President Lynn Jacobson says he believes that there is optimism with the talks between Canada and China to resolve their trade disputes. And he welcomes the idea of dropping tariffs on Chinese EV’s if it means China dropping their duties on Canadian canola.
