Calgary Stampede names Actor Kevin Costner as 2022 parade marshal

Hollywood Legend Kevin Costner will be making a return to our province, but this time not to film a new movie instead he will be a part of the Calgary Stampede. Costner has been named this year’s parade marshal. In a recent video, posted to the Stampede’s Twitter page, the actor says Calgary holds a very special place in his heart.

“I have a lot of fond memories of being in Calgary. It’s made a big difference to me in my life to make Open Range there and Let Him Go. It’s one of the beautiful spots and the world kind of focuses on Calgary. This thing started a long time ago celebrating western heritage and so, on July 8th I’ll be there and I am really honoured to be a part of what you guys have done for so long and carry on a tradition,” said Actor Kevin Costner on a video posted to the Calgary Stampede’s Twitter page.

The Calgary Stampede takes place from July 8 through until the 17th.
