Westside emergency access road opens to cut LFES response times

A new emergency access road has opened on the west side as Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services say this new route will drastically improve service time in the area.

The new gravel road connects Great Bear Boulevard West to 25th Street West, which eventually turns into Metis Trail. This will provide crews at Fire Station #5 with immediate access to the neighborhood of Copperwood and the Crossings further up, saving fire crews crucial minutes to respond to any emergency.

The road is closed for public use, although plans are being discussed to pave the road if the city continues to expand.
