Two Lethbridge Polytechnic students have placed second and third place for pitching their business proposals in a student entrepreneur competition at the Polytechnic earlier this month.
The Launchpoint Pitch Competition is hosted annually by the University of Lethbridge, which provides young entrepreneurs and post-secondary students the opportunity to pitch their business ideas, receive expert feedback and compete for prize money.
The two featured Polytechnic pitches include a supervised pop-up kennel station as an alternative to leaving pets in vehicles alone, and a centralized pet adoption platform that consolidates adoption listings into one space.
Patricia Wannamaker with Park My Pet won second place and $1,500, and Gavin Warmink with Southpaw Rescue alongside UofL student co-founder, Kiana Jans, took third place and $1,000.
