Thiago Bastos named new head coach for U of L Pronghorns women’s soccer team

The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns women’s soccer team has a new head coach. Thiago Bastos joins the team with six years of experience coaching soccer in Canada. He is currently completing a Master’s in High Performance Football from MBP School of Coaches in Barcelona, Spain.

Bastos says he is excited and anxious to kick off the upcoming year of soccer in his new position.

“Because I’m not there yet. I want to be there. I already met the players, so I went a couple of weeks ago to Lethbridge just to get a little bit of feeling, look for places to stay  and meet the players and give like just one session so they can know a little bit of my style. So it’s super exciting. Right now, I wasn’t expecting this to happen so fast in my career. I thought- it was my goal to be a university coach. I always wanted to reach that level.”

The Pronghorns women’s soccer team will host an ID camp on March 25-26. The Canada West regular season will get underway at the end of August.
