Junior College, Lethbridge Community College, Lethbridge College, and now Lethbridge Polytechnic. Those have been the different names assigned to the post-secondary school since it opened its doors in 1957. Last year, for the first time in 67 years, the institution made the change from College to Polytechnic, but what is the difference between the two titles? Our BCN’s Heidi Echavarria asked this very question to the president and CEO of Lethbridge Polytechnic, Brad Donaldson, and this is what he said. Lethbridge Polytechnic offers more than 60 career-training certificates and diploma programs, applied degrees and apprenticeships.
