Target Hunger annual food drive coming up, Interfaith Foodbank recruiting volunteers
The annual Target Hunger food drive is coming up next month and this year, there is a need for volunteers. On the second Saturday in June, volunteers will be coming around picking food donations from residents. Danielle McIntyre with the Interfaith Foodbank says they need the volunteers, especially for collection day adding, they are looking for non-perishable food items in the donation bags.
“This time we are really recruiting volunteers to help us fill all of the routes throughout the city to deliver and pick up those bags. We need to recruit our volunteers for the month of May and then they will be out delivering the bags the first week of June, pickup on Saturday, June the 11th. We are definitely looking for those most wanted, non-perishable items, but there is also the opportunity to go to our website and donate financial gifts online,” said Danielle McIntyre, Executive Director for the Interfaith Foodbank Society of Lethbridge.
