Student-contributed projects showcased at City Scholars symposium

Over the past year, the City of Lethbridge has partnered with students from the University of Lethbridge, Lethbridge College and other institutions on a number of projects.  The completed projects under the City Scholars program were showcased at a student symposium on Tuesday afternoon. Partner Services Manager with the City, Perry Stein says, the program allows students to work alongside the City in various departments to foster involvment in the community, and Tuesday’s showcase highlighted the work they were able to complete.

The work that was done is vital to the students’ career development. That is according to Sydney Whiting a third year Political Science major with a minor in Environmental Studies. She says the work experience will help her resume to stand out from the ones submitted by other candidates.

According to Stein, students make up 15% of the population here in Lethbridge and it is important to hear their perspectives on things.
