Snow zones activated

The much-needed snowfall cause the first snow route activation of the season. Plows were out early Monday morning to tackle the more than 80 kilometers of snow routes throughout the city. Transportation Operations Manager Juliane Ruck says the late arrival of snow allowed the city to do a big advertising campaign to make residents aware of snow routes and plowing. Once snow routes are activated, the City asks that residents move their vehicles out of the way, as they can be quite an obstacle for the snow plow operators to deal with.
