Ski season under way at Sunshine Village Ski Resort

Ski season is officially underway at some resorts in the province including Sunshine Village in Banff. The resort recently had its earliest opening in 40 years on November 3.  An official at the resort says conditions on the hills are incredible for those heading to the slopes.

“We got hit with a storm around October 21st, and that snow has just proven to be snowmageddon, and it’s coming thick, wet, deep, and delicious. So to date, we’ve had over 126 cm land on our slopes, and our base is well over 86 cm presently, and we’re currently working hard to open more terrain. We do currently have our Strawberry Express, Wolverine Express, Wa Wa Quad, and Jack Rabbit Quad open to the public, and we’re working hard to get as much mountain open as we can,” said Kendra Scurfield, Director of Brand and Communications at Sunshine Village Ski Resort.

Sunshine village is anticipating a 201 day ski season this year.
