Shoes for Kids campaign kicks off

Shoes for Kids YQL Foundation kicked off its fourth annual Shoe Drive at Lethbridge Police Service Headquarters.

Representatives from southern Alberta RCMP detachments, Blood Tribe Police Service Taber Police, Lethbridge Police Service and the Watch joined Foundation President Mallory Kristjanson to encourage donations to the drive which will culminate with an event August 17 at Murray Chevrolet Lethbridge.

The goal of this year’s drive is to raise $20,000 and collect at least 300 pairs of brand new shoes. The donations will go toward shoes for low socio-economic and poverty barriered children in southwest Alberta and surrounding indigenous communities.

For those who cannot attend the event new shoes can be donated Freddies Paint or the Medicine Shoppe by the hospital. Those wanting to make a financial donation can visit any RBC and contribute to the Shoes for Kids account.
