Ride for Dad support leads to prostate cancer break-through

Earlier this week, Bridge City News brought you the story about the Southern Alberta Coaldale Ride For Dad which is taking place this weekend. The event raises funds for prostate cancer research and increases awareness of the importance of cancer screening for men. Money raised from Ride For Dad events across Canada goes to support researchers like Desmond Pink who is the honorary ride captain for the Coaldale Ride. Pink says Ride For Dad supports research at the Dr. John Lewis Laboratory at the University of Alberta which led to a breakthrough in prostate cancer diagnosis. He says a new test has been developed for men who are identified as having a higher risk of getting prostate cancer. The Clarity DX test Pink references is now available in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec.
