Raffle to help Lethbridge College students
Lethbridge College will be sending two lucky guests on a trip to beat the heat in January. The college will provide tickets for the two recipients to take a trip to Florida to enjoy a game between the Miami Heat and the Toronto Raptors. Stephanie Savage, the Alumni Engagement Manager for Lethbridge College, says all of the money raised by the raffle will go towards supporting Lethbridge College students financially.
“There’s a lot of different needs students have this time of year. Whether it be mental health supports, or help with their own personal bills, there’s always needs students have. This money will go right into helping students with what they need. This time of year with Christmas and the holidays, kids have gotten through the first semester. So now they’re starting to see that the money isn’t going as far as they thought it would, or they’re getting ready for the next semester and there’s unexpected expenses that come up.”
This year, the Clayton Allan Wine Auction was postponed due to the pandemic. This auction raises money to support student needs. The organizing committee wanted to make sure that students were still helped out. The committee approached Lethbridge College alumni, John Vidalin, about partnering up. Vidalin is the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for the Miami Heat. The winners will receive airfare for two to Miami, a two night hotel stay in Miami, and two lower-lever tickets to see the Raptors take on the Heat on January 17th. To top that off, there will also be a prize pack including Kyle Lowry jerseys and more goodies as well.
The tickets for the raffle will be available until November 18th and you can find more information on the college’s website https://lethbridgecollege.ejoinme.org/Readytofeeltheheat
