Protests in Lethbridge against ending COVID-19 isolation, testing
A group of concerned citizens rallied outside the Provincial Building in Lethbridge on Friday expressing their concerns with the Government of Alberta ending all COVID-19 requirements including testing and isolation on Aug. 16. Rallies have been happening across Alberta for the past week and a half following the announcement from Dr. Deena Hinshaw to end all requirements.
Barb Phillips, who attended the rally on Friday, says she is concerned that anyone can be exposed to COVID-19 without knowing.
On Thursday, federal Health Minister Patty Hijdu sent a letter to Alberta Health Minister Tyler Shandro, saying she agrees with the Canadian Paediatric Society’s description of the province’s move as an “unnecessary and risky gamble.”
