Project Sunflower teams up with students to host benefit concert for Ukrainian refugees
A benefit concert will be taking place Thursday to raise funds for Ukrainian refugees living in Lethbridge. In collaboration with Project Sunflower, the Grade 8 band students at Gilbert Paterson Middle School are hosting their year-end band show where all the proceeds at the door will be donated to the organization. A spokesperson with Project Sunflower says it was the students who decided they wanted to donate to such a worthwhile cause.
“It’s like comforting for us to have that community support. I was very touched when the students on their own decided that they wanted to raise funds for Ukrainians and like for me I feel very privileged to be able to help as best I can. It’s a drop in the bucket but many drops make a full bucket right so,” said Anastasia Sereda, Vice-Chair for Project Sunflower.
Thursday’s concert starts at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
